So people keep asking me "Atma, how does I watch Queen's Blade?" and while my first response is usually "ARE YOU SURE I MEAN THIS IS BOOBS WE'RE SPEAKING OF" I usually point them to some torrents. But why not have just a dedicated post for this I can point anyone to?
So let's talk Queen's Blade.
It's an anime adaptation of a tabletop game/book series in Japan of the same name. The company that imports Dungeons and Dragons stuff to Japan, Hobby Japan, essentially remade an old, badly drawn American game called Lost Worlds, only now it's about hot chicks punching each other. Which looking at the original art I think they made the right choice.
Anyways, it's a fantasy series about a tournament called the Queen's Blade. Once every 4 years, women travel to the capital city of Gainos to fight over who gets to be queen. The winner has to face the current queen to gain rule, lest the current queen keep ruling. Then they can rule however they like. The story focuses mainly on a vagabond warrior named Leina Vance who really does not want to live the stuffy nobility life so she says fuck it and goes to eke out a future for herself and meets wacky friends and foes along the way and learns life lessons.
The series is notable for being shameless in character design, nudity, kickass action scenes, having a really good soundtrack, having a AAA+ voice cast, and more nudity. It has a surprisingly good story and some really well done character evolution though. Also something about a mighty fuckload of lesbian subtext.
Basically it's the most battle bikini D+D campaign ever.
If you like badass ladies, anime as fuck fight scennes, boobs, and lesbians (unless you're Cattleya but then you're the best mom ever so nobody cares), you'll like it here. If you don't like fanservice or silly fantasy nonsense, I won't blame you if you turn away now. This is seriously the series I love most that's also hardest for me to recommend, so I understand.
Content warning for the series is violence, nudity, attempted rape, non-consensual touching, angst, and Echidna's general existence.
If you're not turned off yet, there's hope you'll enjoy it. So let's get you some links.
WATCH THESE IN THE ORDER POSTED OKAY JUST DO IT
(Also, no I don't know where to get direct downloads. Don't ask me to upload anything, my ISP is legendary levels of shit and would take too long for us. Netflix has the dub and while it's not bad, the original cast is leagues superior and it doesn't have everything. Just use uTorrent okay?)
Season 1 - Rurou no Senshi/The Wandering Warrior Contains mostly Leina on a quest to find herself. 12 episodes. Introduces almost everyone in some capacity. Has a somewhat lighthearted tone overall.
Season 2 - Gyokuza-o Tsugumono/The Successor to the Throne Covers the actual Queen's Blade tournament and shows a lot of back story/grudges between side characters. Significantly darker than Season 1. 12 episodes.
Season 2.5 - Utsukushiki Toushitachi/The Beautiful Warriors A 6 episode post-series OVA covering the fates of a lot of characters building into the sequel series, Rebellion. Bring tissues, a lot of these are pretty sad.
QB Rebellion OVA1 A pre-Rebellion OVA about Annelotte, the new protagonist, being trained by Alleyne.
QB Rebellion OVA1 Special The worst workout video ever featuring Alleyne. I don't know why this is a thing. This is just pure fanservice and they're not even trying anymore.
QB Rebellion OVA2 A pre-Rebellion OVA about Ymir and a new character, Siggy, making their way to Gainos.
QB Rebellion OVA2 Special How to do Holy Poses like Melpha and Siggy. Very much like the Alleyne video, this one is just for us to stare at and regret our life choices.
Queen's Blade Rebellion The sequel series is about Princess Annelotte rebelling against the current queen and trying to restore balance and peace to Gainos. This is a lot more dark and shameless and political than the first series, if that is even possible. Contains Mirim, who appears underage and in a battle bikini frequently, so if that makes you uncomfortable you may want to bow out here. Actually sort of based on the Water Margin story. 12 episodes.
Also I thoroughly recommend downloading all of the music as it's extremely listenable.
