i can't believe this may actually bring back using comms and journals, i missed it but i can't believe it took "female presenting nipples" to do us back in here

i should probably do a quick summary of my year since my last post, minus the links to my resume, was from almost a year ago exactly. and a lot has happened.

if things do move back to cozy comms tho i'd be overjoyed

I really do hope that DW picks up. Tumblr I think was great for people who were sporadic, but I could never really get the hang of Tumblr. *sadfaec*

yeah tumblr was, in hindsight, a mess because there was really no boundaries. everyone and everything had to interact and it got messy and bad fast. i think everyone coming back to this would be good for everyone, at least for a while. it feels more personal and comfortable.

making me show my age a bit tho since for many i know this is their first big incident like this and i'm like "i remember before strikethrough even"

I remember when things were so much simpler, back in the day. But it's super nice to see you back. You were always one of my favorite people on LJ, because one-- ATMA and two, I remember the chaos shenanigans!

that feels like decades ago since everything happens so much lately oh my gods, it's definitely still seared into the back of my head forever

i'm trying to explain the era of LJ and comms to my GFs and it sounds like i'm reciting some weird folktale right now i swear

Not even sure I want to tell my husband about how stupid I was on the internet 12 years ago.

Ahaha, I had no idea that was the thing that did it, lmao. I've been back, on and off, for a while since I got fed up with FB. Only reason I have an unused one is just for mobile games, but I HATED using it for community.

yeah, tumblr's banning porn/adult content on the 17th, the flagging system for it can't actually guess what porn is, and now it's not showing posts in your own blog, and the only content allowed left is phrased as "containing female-presenting nipples" so we're having a grand ol' time out there before the inevitable

Oh lord, I remember Strikethrough, it was ridiculous. It's pretty surreal right now to see it all happening again elsewhere. I knew kind of what was going on but not the meme of the whole nipple tag. That's ridiculous, lol. I didn't use tumblr enough to really feel the brunt of it except for the influx on this side.
